Happy Halloween from My Pumpkins to Yours

This was my 1st time decorating a cake & now I know why. Me & frosting just have a heckuva time. But it was all worth it because this is what Tristan wanted for his school party today. I took the best from 2 recipes here & here & then improvised a bit in order to make the face.

Great cake!!!!! I want to make one now, but Baby Blue's daycare party was yesterday :( There's always next year... hope I can remember!!

I'm getting further in The Shack... funny you mentioned it, I was going to ask you today. I kind of got over the hump, so I'm more interested again now, LOL. Now, it's just finding the time to finish it. I was sick yesterday and couldn't move since I got home from work. Better today though :)

Loved your profile, especially the eating and getting closer to God :) And where I live, those two practices are intertwined...it's a beautiful thing...if you're into it i can share more...

that cake is awesome!! frosting can be tricky! Don't ever use the tub frosting - it is too slick and wet - if you are in a pinch - add powdered sugar to it - or Meringue powder to stiffen it up.

Love the cake and what a great picture! Frame it!

Hey, SITSta! Kudos, for trying the cake. I'mnot so hung upon frosting as I am getting the ^$%*! cake out of the pan, so I stick to cupcakes!

awesome job on teh cake!!!

Yeah, I think that scary house was a frat house or something... there were about 8 guys there all dressed up and having a part in the show. A couple of them running around in the cemetary they made, one in a casket, the guy at the door and a few more. It was pretty cool... just maybe not for the little ones.

So... how's the book coming now? I'm still NOT done, LOL.

That is a great pumpkin! I'm going to feature it in my Things to Write Home About today. :)

Your cake turned out cute! I made a pumpkin cake for Carson's class when he was in kindergarten, but our preschool and elementary school don't allow parents to send sweets anymore. Boo! I understand that it can be overdone, but I think it's OK in moderation for a holiday party. Guess I'll peddle my baked goods somewhere else!

Looks great! I did one of these last year and it was a huge success. I used the store bought frosting by had to add a ton of yellow to it b/c it was practically pink. Great job.
