It's early so grab a cup of coffee & sit with me for a few minutes. After all, if you're like me, that's what I wish I could do more often, sit down with my friends & gURLfriends, gabbing over a hot cup o' joe.
I wanted to share a cute little idea I came up with during my Mothers Day Extravaganza. And then it hit me that I really wanted to share that day with you as well since, when I wrote the post back in May, I didn't have many visitors. In fact, I had two comments & one was from me. Hah! So, I would love it if you went back & checked out the very special day & how we celebrated Mother's Day. It has a bunch of pictures that really captured the day & a couple ideas you might want to use for your next party!
I was a bit proud of myself around this time because while I do have a creative side I don't use it a lot outside of the kitchen. But when I do get inspired, I usually can't be stopped. That reminds me to show you the invitation for my son's bday party I made 2 years ago. With his 5th bday coming up next month I am sure I'll get the chance. Anyway, this is what I did to some store bought candles for the Mother's Day party. So simple.
While this one wasn't my favorite it still worked. The green is actually prettier in real life. The backside of the candle says "forever."
You can forget about the fabric & use just the words to make a difference as well. I have two candles, one on each side of my stove. On one I have simply put the word "adventure" and on the other "together."

Hello..I found you through..a friend of a friend..(you know how that goes) anyway I like your blog and thought I'd say hi!
Cheers!
How pretty! What a cute idea! Love it. That would make a sweet happy for some teachers I have been wanting to thank.
Just that little attention to detail makes it more special- or as Emeril will say "kicks it up another notch!"
What a great idea! I like to pick up that type of candle because they are usually cheaper. What a great way to dress them up!
WOW! Your Mother's Day extravaganza was very impressive...and must have made all of your guests feel SO special! Thanks for sharing:) And I love the way you decorate an everyday candle to make it more personal.
Love this idea! What a great way to personalize the candles!--gonna stick this in my mental file for future use!
Blessings!
Cute idea!
Thank you so much for your kind words that you wrote on my daughter's site. It feels good to know her life touches so many and that there are people praying for us as we try to go on with our lives forever missing our baby girl. Thank you again and God bless you and your beautiful family.
Love,
Mary Lynn

Look how crafty you are? Love those candles and enjoyed browsing through your Mother's Day Extravaganza! Multi-talented!
How did I miss this post? So glad I didn't, 'cause that's one awesome candle. You are way creative. Sadly, that trait is lacking in my genetic makeup.
I think that's pretty cute... kind of makes me want to run to AC Moore for some rub-on letters! :)
OOO yeah that is really cute!!!!
I am so not crafty but this looks really, really cool. Good for you!

Pretty candles! Great idea. A Mother Day party sounds like fun. It's one of my favorite holidays!
Good idea also to re-post posts from the early days when you didn't have many commenters. I should do that too!
