A while back, someone from Country Bob's sent me some sauce to try. It sat for awhile. Then I received a cookbook from them. On it, it says Christ is our CEO. Too cool. How could I make Christ wait. So I made these two recipes last weekend just to mess around in the kitchen & to finally see what this sauce was all about. I also found out that it's available at Wal Mart. While that place brings out my bad side & words I try not to use, I would venture there to get some more of this sauce.

With a nice variety of ingredients like scallions, dill pickle, eggs & horseradish, this shrimp salad tasted really nice on some fresh cuban bread for a quick Sunday lunch.

If you like Reuben sandwiches you'll like this dip. Since it has very strong flavors, it would make a nice appetizer if you pre-served it on some toasted cocktail rye bread. I prefer that over just dipping into it with pretzel chips. I heard it's Football Season so now's a good time for such a bold treat :)

Reuben dip, huh? Very creative! Great for game day!!
ReplyDeleteThat shrimp salad looks yummy!

ReplyDeleteLooks yummy!
ReplyDeleteOh dear god. Country Bob sauce is my husband's one-size-fits-all condiment. He puts it on EVERYTHING. I like the bbq sauce and the seasoning, they are pretty decent. When I make taco casserole (since the hubs won't eat salsa or taco sauce, I put Bob in there. Actually turns out prety good!
ReplyDeleteOoo.. the dip looks yummy... If I can find the country bob's sauce I will give this a shot this weekend for my friend's halloween party.
ReplyDeleteThe shrimp look yummy too. Thanks for sharing. :-)

ReplyDeleteAs per usual, you rock. And I want this food. Amen.
ReplyDeletemmmmmm, that dip look wonderful. I like shrimp, but I am so lame becasue I will only eat them with loads of tarter sauce adn fried... Plus I cannot get my honey to jump outside of his "fried chicken finger comfort zone..." Oh well, but I just might try the dip this weekend!
ReplyDeleteDid your son like the shrimp dish? It looks good to me, but I'm not sure I could sell my kids on it. Could I?
ReplyDeleteThe dip looks great. My husband loves Reubens.
I use those same words for Wal-Mart too. It's not just you. Where's the chicken? lol.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmmmm. I saw some of this sauce somewhere else recently. I had a fiasco with the appetizers last night. I had to mix the stuffed tomatoes with the mozzerela toasts. : ). I will never be as good as you....but I will continue to be inspired by you : )!

hmmmmm....Rueben dip....
ReplyDeleteI love ruebens, but my husband made me a rueben casserole once when we were first dating and it was terrible! I have shied away from anything rueben-ey that wasn't a rueben. Not sure what to think on that one. If you say it's good, I'll give it another shot!!
I received some of their sauce too, and I keep forgetting to blog about it! it was good.
